Mid-City Motel

My partner and I stayed here this past weekend to hike locally and check out LSSU. Cozy spot that was friendly from start to finish and clean! This spot is affordable and we were offered a discount because my partner is a veteran which was very considerate. To add on to all of this-also pet friendly!! Thank you for your hospitality and we can’t wait to come back to the Soo and stay again. First photo is from the sign out and second is from the Rotary Park down the street watching the sun rise.

Excellent place!!!! Staff was wonderful, helpful, and hard working. My room was larger with 2 queen beds, was VERY CLEAN and comfy. A/C worked great. Even though the place was full we didnt hear a sound in our room. The price was perfect and we will stay there on our next trip. Special thank you to the Hotel Manager Mellissa. My mother had passed away and Mellissa was very accommodating and supportive. We didnt know if we were coming or going and she was so patient with us. Thank you Mid City

My dad and I had a great stay at this motel! The customer service is splendid especially the front house staff, and the room we stayed in had an A/C unit which was much appreciated! They also have complimentary WiFi and coffee in the morning. What more could you ask for?

If you are looking for an upscale bells and whistles hotel this is not for you. But if you are looking for good value for your money place to stay this will work. It's an older motel that could really use some updates. The bathroom was small, but efficient. The carpet and upholstered chairs are stained. But other than the stains things are clean. There are two buildings that face each other with a very small parking area in between them. There are two floors in each building with stairs only, no elevator. The room has a refrigerator and microwave, but no coffee maker. They do however have coffee in the office. The refrigerator and microwave are on a stand, not just sitting on the floor. That was a nice touch! There is a desk, a table and two chairs. The bed was comfortable. In my picture it shows one side of the motel with a church beside it and the tower of history is just the other side of the church.

The service was tremendous. The rooms were clean, I'll be it outdated, but for the price it suited our needs. We did feel we might be some of the only overnight guests as it appeared to be a motel where many of those staying were actual residents in an affordable housing situation. Be that as it may, go ahead and try and find a clean motel room for $80 a night!

People were friendly. The room was clean and cozy. It was kinda of a crazy trip for me, and Melissa did everything in her power to accommodate my needs. Thanks Melissa! I would definitely recommend this budget friendly motel if you're in the area and looking for a place to hang you hat for a few nights.

Not to shabby. I love the vintage vibe it has. I'm from the Great Lakes Bay Region (Bay City) and i love staying in Sault Ste. Marie when i get the chance but I think the only issue I have is the lighting. Only 2 out of the 4 lights work in our room. The carpet has a lot of spots to where I wouldn't walk barefoot on the carpet and also our room smelled like straight up cigarettes. Other then that, I would recommend this motel.

If you are looking for a 5 star place, this ain't it. But. If you are looking for a friendly staff, and tenants with quaint but comfortable rooms, than please do give the Midtown a shot! Yes, the rooms are dated, but they are really well kept, and comfortable. Our mattress must have been new, as it was just the right amount of firm, without being lumpy or saggy. The linens were clean and soft, and the shower was nice and hot, with good water pressure. Seriously, do yourself a favor and look past the general appearance. Give the Midtown a shot. You won't regret it!
